Jammers are illegal (the ones that work) because they transmit on a frequency forbidden to us regular folk. If you just transmit white noise they are easy to detect, and the one my Dad's boss had made the radar read a specific mph so you could cruise at 85 and the policeman would see you goung 70. His was confisacated when he left it on when the car was parked and a policeman drove by with his always on radar. This was 12 - 15 years ago, I don't know if you can still buy them.

C&D did a test on the laser jammers and said they only work well on the early lidar guns, and so did HID headlights. They also mentioned they couldn't clock a Firebird with no front plate and no jamer with the early guns either. Our headlights would be a target spot with no front plate, so if you could cover them in daylight . . .
