Dane,

You need to make sure that you get on the SCOF forum now that you have an SPF..most of those guys are great at helping with stuff like this.

YOu probably have a Holley Blue, Red or Black...they are noisy as hell because they are a diaphram pump...they also either run or die suddenly...I would get you another Blue pump to keep as a spare just in case (we have gotten to where we could almost build a car here in Dallas with all the parts we keep between the group). The change in tone is just a draw on the battery....if you see the ammeter drop then something is drawing more power from the whole system...my bet is the fans...not a big deal if they just drop down and then kick back up its just the relay turning up the juice from the alternator.
