You are right. You left out one great drive and that is over the mountains through Weaverville toward the coast. The road follows the old stage coach road and it twists and turns back on itself until you can drive 50 miles to actually go 20 miles. Great scenery along the river and gold dredges everywhere. Also in the Feather River canyon toward Quincy and Portola and the Lake Almanor area. I use the roads over to Shasta Dam to set my suspension up on as I live 7 miles from the dam. There is also a great flat area where you can see for miles and no traffic on an old highway that only ranchers use and it is a geat place to run hard and not have to fear traffic as there won't be more than one or two pickups an hour on that road.
