On a more serious note, I RARELY wash my car. Exceptions would be if I got caught in rain and splashed mud or other muck on the car, but that usually just hits behind the wheels and on the sides of the car. Also might use a soapy spounge under the rear quarter panels where rubber from the tires usually sticks.
Tires get a good hand washing only when the brake dust gets too heavy to remove with the "touchless" stuff.
For the weekly clean ups of minor road grime, dust, bugs, etc, I use McGuires Quick Detailer. And once a year, usually in the spring, I give it a treatment with a mild wax that is not very aggressive....... paint on my car is 20 years old, and no clear coat, so I'm afraid that if I rub too much, I'll be getting into the primer.
Paint shines like a mirror, see my photos in the gallery.
