You said you did not like to race so why a race motor that requires race gas? That motor would suck in a Cobra as it would not be real streetable. That is why you do not see to many NASCAR spec small blocks in Cobras. They Idle at about 2500 and get about 4mpg on race fuel. In a car that weighs less than 2500# you cannot use over about 400hp on street tires. Your Cobra weighs more like 3000# so it might could use about 500hp but not much more unless you just like to shread tires.
