TC I'll be happy to assist in digging up events that we can participate in. I may even go so far as to help organize our own events.
I'm soon to be an empty nester, which is one of the reasons I'm building my car, free from the 8 months a year watching my son play baseball. He will only be playing 4 months out of the year now.
As far as dues - I don't think they will increase attendance one bit. Email is free, works well in conjunction with the forum and I would guess 90 percent of the members have one or the other. If they don't check the forum are they going to pay dues - I doubt it. Will someone attend an event 500 miles away because they paid $25 dues ?

People attend things if they sound fun are resonably close by and work within their schedule.
