I have run 429/460 combinations for years. They make a ton of power with very mild parts added. The problem with 8000 RPM is you can't do it in a stock block or with cheap vavvetrain. As fixit said the stroke and weight of the rotating assy. is hard to contain. The area of the main web in a stock block is crap. You can fill it to the water holes and put a girdle on the mains but it is still crap. Don't spend money on a crank, rods, and a high dollar valvetrain if your not going to buy an SVO block. Your crate motor makes great power from 2-6000 RPM. The extra 2000 RPM will cost you $7,500-$10,000
