Thanks for the heads-up on the meet. I will definitely be there!
As far as making decisions on my options, drive train and so forth, I have made many already. I spent my earlier years (17-24), not that I'm that old now, drag racing and building late model Mustangs. My first ride was a 79' that I put a 351W in. It was hobbled together from what I could afford. After a couple of years of testing and tuning it went 12.22 @ 111 mph. I also spent many years as a technical sales consultant for Reliable Automotive and for Automotive Performance Wholesalers (now Keystone of Kansas City).
I still have the 351W block from my first car and it will be the base for my Cobra engine. The plan as of now is a 418 stroker built for about 1 to 1.2 HP/CI. That seems like a reasonable goal and will still allow premium pump gas to be run.
As far as my kit goes, I know I want to do the majority of the build. Doing automotive work is absolute therapy for me.
Are you going to be displaying at the show? If so, I will stop by and have a chat if you're available.
Thanks again!
