Why don't you do a 1990s style priceline.com thing and name the price you're willing to pay and see who shows up. If your budget is 35k, for example, and you actually have it ready to deploy, then you might just find someone that has an older SPF out there that's ready to make a quick and easy deal. There are about 1600 spf cars, with only 20-30 available across the country (my estimate), there are likely an equal amount that are not sure they want the hassle of trying to sell in this market, ya know, kiss a lot of frogs. If you're really ready to make a purchase, that's what I would do. For every cash buyer, there are at least 100 "serious buyers" it's helpful to distinguish yourself.
