Guy's the reason for 91 octane in California is CARB. The Company that came up with the CARB blend for 92 octane was I think Unocal, they have the patent for 92 octane, if the other
oil companies followed their formula the would have to pay them a "royalty" for every gallon made, so they got together and made 91 octane CARB gas and avoid the royalty, sucks for us!!!
