Default 110-125$ tires

The ones in that price range are SLICKS. The ones with tread are about 200. They where temporarily unavailable while Goodyear moved the operations back to the States and I have heard that the quality is better.

The insurance and liability issue for non DOT approved tires is a very "iffy" proposition. I talked to several Cops, my insurance agent, read the state laws and the underwriters policy. No where and no one says they must be DOT. In Ohio. BUT, given the oportunity, I would not put it past the insurance adjuster to try and use it against you!

Now if you run the slicks, that is a different story. You must have a minimum tread depth in every state that I know of!
