Yep, you got it, most motors are stroked. Mine is a BB- 428. 10.5 to 1 compression. Alum. heads, polished with great flow. With a lot of tinkering on the timming advance, carb, plugs ect, ect... the third pull on the dyno resulted in 501 hp/550 torque. My water temp was a little high at 215, when the summer temps were over 95 deg. in traffic. But, these high hp motors dont make peak hp when below 200 deg. I don't worry over anything untill it's over 220. I've never encounted over heating or, "cooking a motor" in my drag cars or our sprint car. My cobra doesent even want to run well at under 190. I went with a 165 deg. thermostat from a dodge diesel truck. I guess the temps would be lower if I could only STAY OFF THE GAS !!!! well.....that aint gonna happen in a Cobra !!!! hehe!
