Default placement of Canton remote oil filter

My 351C had this puny filter so I removed and got Canton billet bracket and billet engine plug (with two outlets). The mechanic surprised me when fitting. I also have Mocal oil cooler.

He chose to mount the filter below steering assembly directly in front of oil pan but high enough so it will not bottom out, just in case. It is mounted horizontally. I had seen photos that it is typically mounted on engine bay with vertical position. He claims that since is it neat and tucked away down low less pressure required to move oil around? I think it sucks as the only way you can change oil filter (Canton has replacment 8 micron elements good for 10k) is to lift car.

Any thoughts it this is a good solution?

thanks
Ed
