Default Fuel pump Mallory140gph or BG220 etc

Going through the different fuel pumps available, line size and location ideas!

Had a Holley Blue, 3/8" line, in first FE406 car, very noisy with pressure regulator but no return line.
Looking at either Mallory 140gph with bypass valve to tank, or BG220 with bypass to tank, the Mallory has 3/8" inlet and outlet, while the BG220 has 10AN (1/2"ID) for the inlet/outlet of pump, and 8AN (3/8") for the bypass.

I will mount the pump right beside the tank with intake line level with pickup, all this will be feeding a 500+bhp windsor for racing and road, I think the Mallory is quite running, has smaller lines, which should be adequate for this application? the BG220 is a bit smaller for easier fit to car, but has these large fittings, which may make everything concerned larger than need be?

Anyone used either of these pumps for noise and reliability, ability etc?
