ANT,
LET ME SHARE A STORY WITH YOU ON THE MANUAL SHUT OFF IDEA. I SOLD MY ERA ABOUT A YEAR AGO. IT WAS REALLY A DEDICATED TRACK CAR AND I WAS STARTING TO GET ALITTLE BEYOND THE ENVELOPE. ANYWAY, THE FUEL PUMP WAS WIRED TO THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE GUY WHO BOUGHT THE CAR WAS DOING SOMETHING STUPID AND HIT A WALL IN A PARKING LOT AT ABOUT 80. THE PASSENGER WAS THROWN OUT, HE WAS NOT WARING THE 5 POINT HARNESS, HIT THE STERRING WHEEL/ WINDSHIELD AND OUT COLD. CAR CATCHES FIRE WITH THE ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP PUMPING 110 OCTANE. HE DID LIVE, BUT BURNED PRETTY GOOD. THE MANNUAL SHUT OFF FOR THEIF IS A GOOD IDEA. IN 1968 MY 289 COBRA WAS STOLEN. THAT CAR RAN DUEL ELECTRIC PUMPS BECAUSE OF THE WEBERS. I HOOKED UP A KEY SWITCH IN THE TRUNK AND LET NO ONE KNOW. BY THE WAY, I WOULD USE A FUEL REGULATOR . THINK MINE WAS SET AT 6-7 PSI. GOOD LUCK.
