DVSFIII has been a assolutely marvelous time and the highlight clearly has been meeting folks like: DV himself, Wayne Turpin, Brent Mills (ClubCobra Sysop), Tom Kirkham (Kirkham) , Bob Marsh (Shelby), BLACKJACK (again!!), all the Texas boys, Flyin' Freddie (hope that tranny gives you 200K miles of joy) and Ron Frohs (TN SPF owners--Small block cars you do NOT want to mess with) , RT and some of the other the SCOF boys, the folks who stopped when I ran out of gas (run out of gas--what a Gashole thing to do)!!.
Oh yeah, I met some Gasholes in person, and they were very disappointing. They were some of the nicest, at same time rudest
, disrupting, honorable, most chivalrous, scandalous, very respectable, modest, horniest, giving, OUTGOING, hungriest, thirstiest bunch I have seen They even posed for pictures
I realize again, (IT HAS BEEN A LONG DAY as I write this, I was actually talking to TURK at 2:30AM today at the Cross Country Inn in Columbus--) !!!
On our belated way to the Madison airport for day 3 events of DVSF after I get "NO SLEEP", Wife asks "Do we have enough gas?", after noting gas guage needle (funny how wives always look at straight pointy thingies and fuel guages). It was on empty, where it usually is at for the bottom half of the tank so you know I am not worried
.
Gashole answer, "Sure, don't worry about it , plenty of gas, just a lousy guage. Was gonna fix it, but I would rather you have a new dress
. " 3 minutes and 30 seconds later, car comes to dead coasted stop. No bucking, no sputtering. Some gas vapor smell. Gas VAPORS A new Weber experience!! Life is grand!!
Anyway, some terrific FFR guys came to my rescue and all was well (THANK YOU if you are reading this). I have many "takeaways from this weekend", but as I told TURK, it is so great to see all of us in the same parking lot, admiring all of each others cars regardless of make, and when in person we do not bicker like we do on online!
And my point is, I have no point. Only the experience of this wonderful event and getting to meet the folks that are on this site. As well as the great feeling we all get from the charity side of this event. Great job DV.
