I just trying to figure out the best spec for an engine that would be suitable for our tiny twisty roads here in the uk.
My engine builder can get a new old stock block and advises to go with new internal parts all round, and surgests going for a 427 stroker motor=454 ci.
Im not sure i need all that power and torque from an already monsterous engine. I was thinking of a more upto date version of the original spec engine eg. alloy heads water pump inlet manifold with h beam rods MSD pro billet 1x4bbl etc, but i guess most people build with these options. So guy`s with desk top dyno what cam near to original grind spec would give me a nice sweet running engine (no lumpy tick over). I will be using W/R toploader and 3.31 axle but might go for a 3.07, tyres will be BFG 275/60/15. I got complete faith in my engine builder he`s the No.1 FE man in the uk, but id like to hear everyone elses ideas and input on the subject.

thanks
