my thinking is that this is one of the last available engines of this type. to my knowledge there are very few new 427s around. sure you have shelby's new motor that sells for $ 26,000. and what motor, a true work of art. you can punch it up to over 1200hp. I had planned on building a blown 700 cu. in. big block. but I'm over 50 now, and don't know if my heart could take it. (LOL) but I think 1200 will do. we have some mid 7 second chevy street cars around here and I talk a lot of junk. have to build a ford that will shut their mouths. I remember as a teenager, maybe 14 or so. My first ride in 427 63 1\2 galaxy xl . the driver, who happens to be my present business partner, had a unique way of shifting gears. when he shifted, he would slide his clutch foot to the side and let the pedal pop back up on it's own. I thought the dash board was going to come out. but the best part, aaahhhhhh the scream of that 427, can still hear it from 1963. saying all that, I think I will build a high horsepower 427. it will be nice to say it's only a 427 Ford, before I blow their doors off. I will get some numbers off the rods been busy here, have to take everything off the motor and spin it see what other numbers I can find, without turning crank.
