Default Good book?

I'm just getting into the BB FE end of things and I'm looking for good printed reference sources on the engines. In particular the 428 based units.
My situation is that it's been slightly over 20 years since the last time I did any serious wrenching on any motors and then it was on a small block GM (I know it's not polite to use foul language on these posts but it has to be taken in context). The result of all of this is that, while someone else will be doing the buildup of the engine, it would be nice to know if the recommendation to increase the bearing clearence on the remote counterlift lobe on the frammis cam to increase oil flow would be worth the trade off in increase water pump impeller temperature.
I have about a year before the car is ready and about 6 to 7 months before I have to make a final decision on the power plant. While I cannot see myself becomming an expert in any sense of the word but I would like to gather as knowledgeable as I can during the wait period.
I never cease to be amazed at the amount of experise there is in these forums and I'd like to be able to take advantage of it.
Thanks,
Don Choura
