Your comment about having the rock on your desk reminded me of a college professor I knew many years ago. While visiting his office, I noticed a nondescript rock about the size of a tennis ball sitting on his desk. When I asked about it, he explained that it had come flying through his open office window and imbedded itself into the wall with a loud bang. When he went to the window to see who threw the rock, he saw a very large commercial lawn mower running in front of his building. Was it bad luck that the rock flew in his window, or good luck that it missed him?
