trularin - It regularly hits mid to high 30s with high humidity in Summer, which is nothing like Arizona when OZVENOM and I stayed with BTSNAKE before and after DVSF2. 122 degrees is pure insanity......
BUT IT'S A DRY HEAT !!!!!!
Bernie - it'd be a shame to miss out on bringing your Cobra for the sake of a lack of paint.... in fact, that's probably the best time to sort out the little details and get out on the racetrack. Once everything's just right, then go and spend the cash on a paintjob. I was planning on going that way with my car but I got to the point that I knew if I got the car registered and drveable without paint, it'd never get painted. OZVENOM also knew that once my car left his workshop that he'd have a heck of a time getting me to bring it back there for a few finishing touches. Working on them isn't a fraction of the fun of driving them.
Les - regarding the difficulty with gaining access to the engine bay with the body on..... I cannot state strongly enough how much I recommend fitting a removable front end to any Cobra owners. I had to change the timing cover on my first RMC, and I was paranoid about scratching the paint on the guards - despite having covers draped over them. I leant over that damn thing all day, and my back was killing me. From that day, I decided that the new car would have a tilt/removable front end. It is the single most important mod that was done to this car.
Paint the dzus fasteners and no-one would ever know the difference...
