Sorry for the confusion - I'll restate it:

If I put the 6000 chip in, it will start and run for a max of about 30 seconds then die. If I goose the throttle, it will respond, but not stay going. If I play with the choke, same result. The "idle" is somewhere around 3500-4000 (guess).

With the 3000 chip, it will start and run continuously, but will not come down off of the rev limit.
