Don't worry about making too much torque, there is no such phenomena. (happiness is NOT being able to put your foot all the way in it until third gear) Why a cam made for blower applications if you are not running a blower? Mechanical cams are fine, just have to adjust the valves every once and a while, that's all. I am not a fan of HV oil pumps. Are you planning on stroking it to a 347, running EFI, please, a few more details of the intended combo.
