It could be screwed into a fitting in a radiator tank, or into the intake manifold near the top radiator hose/thermostat housing. Or it could be in the lower radiador hose. Follow the wires from the fan to the relay(?) and then see where the other wires that attach to the relay go, they should be attached to the thermo fan switch in question. Ocasionally there is no thermo fan switch at all and the fan is wired direct, ie: to be on when the key is switched on.
