Kanuck,

Have to agree with Jamo on this one, your machine shop $$$$ are off, as is the final assembly.......If someone built a 427 for 12K, you can bet it was not with an Alloy block, or aluminum heads....Used parts in a 427 engine...If your spending the money, why would you ever take chances with someone elses used parts(unless of course the machine shop is revamping those parts for you, in which case your $$$ are way off)..........As for the engine in my car, yes, it was built for less than 12K (all new parts), but at as time (1993) when the parts were reasonably priced. But even back then, the machine shop services were well over $1,000, hell, the heads have that much in just port matching, porting, and extra work done to make them flow better...................
