Another product that I have used to "glue" in vent screens and aluminum shrouds etc. is a black urethane caulking that you have to get at an auto glass place. Places that replace windshields for insurance etc. This product is only available to commercial users and you might have to beg to buy a tube, but it sure works good. This stuff is more permanent than silicone so if you need to remove a part from time to time (eg side louvers for brake bleeding) this is probably not the product to use.
