Mike,

I for one, as a former SPF owner appreciate the great work you have done with SecondStrike and appreciate the update from your visit to SPF. The biggest asset of owning an SPF has been the communication and events via your newsletter, mailers, and website.

Within your own post above you essentially acknowledge that SPF may have had some pains as they "grew up". As a former SPF owner, I can testify to that. SPF makes rollers as I see it. There is an "in-place disti system" of privateers as I see it as well. SPF is not the selling agent for their rollers as I see it. Am I wrong? Shelby on the other hand controls most of manufacturing all the way to the consumer. It is an announced business model, maybe even an in place model, sounds like a possible edge to me when you factor in CSX #s, his name, and the other obvious features.

So SPF's value is 1. their product as it stands as a roller (and it is a great 'glass roller), 2. their community (sometimes sadly a closed to public eyes forum mostly on SCOF and the great posts by Flyin Freddie and others here on occasion, with SCOF as a member's only forum, thus no one can see the day to day "darkside"), 3. their engineering--thats where the sweat equity and time comes to play, and finally 4. their legacy of selling probably just shy of 2000 cars by now.

At the end of the day, I am with TURK on a very recent post of his. He mentioned if you bought a car to enjoy and play with, race with and don't give a hoot about resale, you have understood what it is about, and knowing what I know of you, you are in that category and should be commended. I sense some worry among the SPF crowd. This post is not to you as the messenger, but more to SPF and the private SCOF crowd.
