RD - it turned out alright. The engine builder wanted the longest rods possible, and this put the pin up inside the
oil ringland, but that's what he wanted. Who was I to argue???
One other weird thing that I found with the SVO, and it wasn't a big deal, BUT.... when I tried to bolt up the engine mounts - they wouldn't fit!!! SVO blocks have a strengthening rib that goes down to the engine mounting tab. I couldn't find any Ford engine mount that would fit around this rib, so I had to get the grinder out.....
