Phil,
A donor vette say a 1976 should cost no more than $1500 or $2000. if premo body parts to sell. You want just the chassis and want to part out all the body and other non used Vette parts. If willing to deal with the calls of parting it out you should expect to net POSITIVE cash flow on the deal and get your chassis for free!
Bill is also right about not many chassis from donors not being a true bolt up if even do-able in stock form.
