The cost I've heard associated with NASCAR motors IN the cars and ready to RUN the race was in excess of $50K, pushing $75K. I have seen the "used parts" NASCAR prices which are in comparison "ultra cheap". Bear in mind a "race ready" NASCAR engine is dry sump, (less friction) and includes all the "goodies" you won't get in a "street" version. Not sure I would want a dry sump system for the street by the way, but maybe.
