Bart:

My experience with ERA is that Peter tries very hard to maintain the order and integrity of deposits. He has called me from time to time (I've had two GT's on order for a long time) to see if I'll allow the next guy to start or would I transfer my spot to someone and go to the end of the line.

I've said yes from time to time because I have not been ready to have him start the car. (It's a long story: I'm waiting to do a MkII, have the motor, but want the correct transaxle / gearbox).
With the GTs, it has taken them awhile to gear up for the next run of stainless chassis.

If you had laid down a deposit four or five years ago and you decided that (for whatever reason) you didn't want to go forward, wouldn't you want to sell/assign you place in line? ...and maybe try to recoup something on your investment? And on the otherhand, if someone feels they can't wait, perhaps there is a price to be paid for obtaining an earlier opportunity.
