As Gordy points out...unless youse guys have driven through infamous San Joaquin Valley tule fog in the winter in the 30s (sometimes 20s), you don't know how damn cold/wet it can get without rain/snow. My car is pretty well insulated, as was my Butler--never needed a heater/defroster. Wouldn't have hurt anything; just never needed it. Frosted window? That's what the damn gloves are for. As Pat assplained, a disconnected fresh air hose at the top of the trap door will warm things up if ya really need it.
I'd sooner have air conditioning for the summers here. Then again, we Gasholes did do Death Valley and came out alive.
BTW, I drive my car 12 months out of the year. Had a top for the Butler, but not yet for the Kirkham--so rain MIGHT make me reconsider certain days until I get one.
