If you do enough research you will find both good AND bad about most of the crate builders mentioned. Also remember that performance engines rarely include any type of warranty/guarantee. Some may offer it for an additional fee.
IMHO, Squeeeq is correct. Better to have a problem across town than across the country.
I had a local machine shop do the work on my block. My family has been doing business with them for about 25+ years with never a problem. I did my own assembly after verifying all specs and doing the clearancing for the stroker crank.
I bought my kit from a local dealer and my heads came from JD's Performance in Florida.
When I build my next engine I'll do it the same way. But I will give a look at
www.adperformance.com for parts next time. From what I can see and read, they are a top notch source with excellent pricing and outstanding customer service. Talk to Brian if you decide to check them out.
It's a significant investment. Just do the best research you can. Listen to the bad as well as the good.
