I am one of the guys who appreciates both. I have a couple of older hotrod Porsches: an '88 cab with a '96 993 Euro-Varioram 3.6 motor and a '71 with a '79 euro 3.0 motor (each is about a 40-50% increase in hp and torque over stock and each has updated suspension and brakes). I will admit that the newer models don't do it for me: too refined and they look like a bar of soap that has been in he shower for too long. However, the old German hotrods are only slightly more complex than a Cobra (each is essentially 1950s fundimental design). They are rough, simple and fast. They actually do work every day with very little fussing. To be honest, my KMP is not yet done, so I cannot compare the two brands, but I will say the guys who like hotrod older Porsches are not too different than the guys who like Cobras. In fact, I showed the the KMP stuff to the guy who did the engine swaps and all he mods to my 911s, and he thought it was way cool.
