I started with 4 1/2 inches from the ground with my Lone Star Comp with Chevy big block with stock 6 quart pan. Had trouble sealing between pan and timing cover. Retrofit Milodon 8 quart "shallow" sump. Dropped clearance to 3 1/2 inches. Haven't had a bit of trouble with driveways or drain troughs on local streets. Highways no problem either but you will learn to watch for alligators, prairie dogs, and tall snakes real quick. My 3 1/2 inches works just fine.
Glad to hear from another Wyo Cobra owner.
