Mr. Bob Putnam and the rest of the group:

Mr Mackey no longer owns ERA 561 Street version..

I do.

The reason why this was purchased was because I drove an original BRG 67 Cobra that was exactly like this. To this day I recalled every moment in the original car..ERA 561, doesn't have sunburst wheels of the original, but is almost an exact duplicate of the original car of 33 years ago..Coincidentally, while performing my due diligence on ERA 561,it was discovered that Peter Portante of ERA bought the original Cobra that I drove and almost purchased 33 years ago..He purchased the original many, many years later from the same person that was selling it when I drove it. It was like a homecoming when I discovered who owned the original car that I drove long, long ago. I still regret not purchasing the original when I had the opportunity in 1970.

It's a small world when it comes to "real" Cobras

Anyway, ERA 561 is definitely a departure from the SC version. It is very hard to distinguish from an original..The SC versions with the scoop, stripes, outside exhaust and roll bar are very common in the world of Cobras..Those who have a great deal of knowledge about Cobras know how many real SC versions were produced..
Hence the question: IS IT REAL?
The street version is less common in the replica world and I have had more positive comments about this vehicle..Besides, I can carry on a conversation with a passenger, not smell of exhaust fumes, not suffer any hearing impairment and not get "bit" from the pipes while exiting or entering the vehicle..
Also, I have been advised that the under car exhaust has either the same restriction or is less restrictive than the outside exhaust..
When queried about why people want the outside exhaust, the response was: THEY WANT THE LOOK!
