Jason,

Two areas you should consider sound control - heat control. First is footwells, trans tunnel, and passenger compartment. I used double sided aluminum padding from dash forward to firewall for sound/heat control (Summit - ~$40/roll. Need 1 roll) and single sided aluminum padding from dash rearward under seats, rear trans tunnel, and behind seats. (Local Trac/Pep Boys, ~$20/roll, need 2 rolls. Used for RV/Van insulation)

You want to ceramic coat (at least) your headers inside and outside to keep engine/exhaust heat down. (I can hold my hand 1" from header on running motor and not get burned.) (I can also touch sidepipe heatshield with engine running.)

For cabin heat, install a heater/defroster from engine coolant (like real cars) for passenger compartment heat, and windshield defrosting. Works just as well as real cars too.
