Default Mike Shelby lives in Dallas

Mike Shelby lives in Dallas, he is in the oil & gas business, and own a bank in Plano, Texas - Legacy Bank. I heard this from Carroll himself this past weekend.

Mike has visited and spoke at our SCAT club meetings, and was the keynote speaker at our last Shelby Texas Nationals last month. (Pictures to appear soon on www.scatracks.org ) In 2002 he drove his '66 GT-350 "continuation" convertible to our club meeting.

Mike spoke very fondly of his childhood with Carroll Shelby, having the "job" at a teenager of running a handheld stop watch at Le Mans!! Mike also told me personally of absolutely wild and hilarious stories of the days of the Terlingua chili parties.

After the banquet at STN '03 on Friday night, Mike was supposed to fly out on Sunday for a business trip, but he changed plans at the last minute and showed up at our car show on Sunday and visited for quite a time. He is very genuine, personable, friendly, informative, and very interested in the cars. As to whether he would eventually take over Shelby auto-related enterprises, I doubt it.

The following picture is of Mike Shelby in the center looking at the camera, famed automotive artist and Shelby childhood friend Bill Neale on the left, and SCAT members on the right. Mike's GT-350 convertible in the background:
