Bought a Tremec 3550 from D&D in Michigan; $1200. But also bought std 10.5" clutch and alum. bellhousing from them...clutch was about $120 and bellhsng was $130 (I think...).
You have options on the Tremec. They are available with either a 0.82 or 0.68 O/D ratio. I used 4.10 gearing and so went with the 0.68...if you use anything much lower (i.e. 3.55's) better go with the 0.82. No diff in $$ here.
Since I'm not much into drag racing anymore I went with the aluminum bellhousing. Clutches can explode, sure, but this pretty much happens when dropping the hammer. Usually.
Oh - also bought an aluminum flywheel from D&D - HIGHLY recommended. Car revs almost like a sprint car.
