Default cobras by the bay recap

hey guys
finally got over being bummed out, well not completely, so here is the recap.

friday: had 6 cobras and a couple of vintage cars make the 5 pm start of the tailgate party.

saturday: went to the ford dealership at 8:30 am and had a 7th cobra come in from san antonio.

saturday afternoon: went to a warehouse that a local resident used to store a collection of 30 cars.

saurday night: met at hooters.

now for the details. on friday at 5 pm one of the local tv stations met at my shop for a remote live telecast. i don't know if they were short on news but we were the main feature. lots of pictures and several interviews of the cobras and drivers. had pizza and watched a cobra tape and a tape of us being on the news. after sharing "stories" everyone went home looking forward to saturday. saturday i wake up early-anxious-and when i go out to check the weather its raining. great! head down to the dealership and call and tell everyone to stay put until the weather clears. three of my mustang club memebers show up and a few people anxious to see the cobras. bob taulbee arrives with his cobra nice and dry in an enclosed trailer. after an hour or so i head back to my shop to wait out the weather. as some people call and want to see the cobras i have them come to my shop. eventually all the cobra guys and a number of other people come by. never quits raining. so i call this guy that has a large collection of cars and he agrees to meet us at his multi million dollar wearhouse. we wait there for an hour and he never shows up. great! we go back to my shop. after a while a couple of the "out of towners" suggest we go to hooters. we go there and spend the evening talking and solving all of the worlds problems. or at the time thats what it sounded like. agreed to meet at 8 sunday morning at the ramada to drive with the guys from houston. wake up early again, and head over to my shop to get the cobra. run into mist and wet roads before i get to my shop. great! to add to all this misery the aggies get embarrassed 77-0 by oklahoma! oh well, at least the cowboys won. i want to thank those that came in form out of town. i really appraciate your commitment. next time i'll do better with the weather. i've rescheduled for next saturday at the dealership as a large number of local people were looking forward to the event. see if the weather will be a little kinder this time. same format, 9-1 at the dealership and then the cruise that afternoon. anyone is welcome.
now for those special people that made the trip. jim weatherall from houston, bob taulbee from san antonio, and dennis mosley and david shelton who braved the lousy weather and drove their cobras all the way from the houston area. a big thank you. i look forward to the next time we get togethor.

ps i won't mention any names but, for one of the interviews they asked if we could start one of the cobras. our volunteer showed how it started and it fired up on the first click. now when we went live the tv host was talking about the cobra and asked "******" to fire it up. you guessed it. wouldn't start! after a red face and a few pumps of the gas pedal it finally fired off. and since i'm surronded by shops with chevy owners, you could here "should have got a chevy". by the way i have all of this on tape.
