Just throwing this in the pot. I also have a Lone Star Cobra. The engine is a 428 FE. Last year it dynode at 501 HP/ 550 torque. I broke a rocker shaft, bent the pushrod ect.... I'm in the process of rebuilding it now. Machine work is done, bored to .060 over, Ross pistons, Lunati "H beam' rods, custom grid cam by Comp ( solid .600/.600 duration at .015 tappet lift 290/298 split for better exhaust, set at .050/ 106 center. Duration-intake= 252 exhaust= 260, lobe lift exhaust 3530 intake 3530. Lobe sep.=110. (10.7: 1 compression) I ported the heads & will flow them later. B.G 850 carb, Edelbrock RPM intake which I ported & matched the headers. We'll see what it produces this winter but, should be around......630-650 HP. I can't keep hooked up with the small street tires. With a buddys slicks+compound, great weather conditions ect...it ran the 1/4 at 10.498 sec. I have no idea how I will hook up the revised engine. It's mostly for bragging & all out sound. I'll race it once & a while but use it on the street. I set this cam up for my car & my needs. With the BB motor, TKO tranny & Ford 9" it weights at 2400 lbs. I talked with Comp many times & hopefully I have a great combo ? Comp is now going to produce this cam so, if anyone wants it, I have the serial number. If, I can get it to hook-up, it should be a radical launch guys ! We'll see ?
