turk, thanks for your help, and maybe something did get lost in the translation. You certainly SEEMED to care very much, when even after i cut/pasted the email here, you went through all your emails looking for it. That certainly seemed to fire up the natives.
i said from the start there was no mystery, that i had probably made a mistake.

Anyway, no harm, no foul, and thanks for facilitating the answer. i clearly have no idea how to interact with this group constructively, so i'll just call the manufacturers from now on.
