If you are talking about the after market hobby Winston Cup/Busch racers like myself that go to vintage events, I am not aware of anyone who has died.

If you are talking about crashes about the above group, I can tell there have been plenty of incidents some worse than others. That's real racing. Injuries? None that I am aware of and I have seen some balled up cars. They are safe comparatively to Cobra's if that's the answer you are looking for.

If you are talking about real Cup/Busch racing, I don't keep track but I know Dale Ernhardt died.
