you can probably have a slightly shorter filter made...according to the FAQ on the K&N website:

14. Can a K&N filter be made at the factory for any application?

Yes, we can make just about anything, but the cost can be prohibitive on panel filter types. Generally, we only change the height of existing round filters. This includes cylindrical, conical and oval filters clamp-on or not.
