As a dad of 3,let be the next to say be vigilant. My daughter and the oldest has been out of school for the better part of a week because of the very same thing that you talked about. Her fever did get high several days and our peditrician has always recommeded motrin to bring down fevers over tylenol because of reyes syndrome. Happy to say that her fever broke yesturday morning (of course only a 1/2 day of school for the rest of the year!) has been feeling more of her spunky self. My father who is a pharmacist told me that she had the mild for of the flu bug. Argh! The thing I always worry about when fever spike like that is a ear infection. When they are little their bodies can't handle that kind of temperature without causing some possible brain damage if it goes undiagnosed. The one thing we as parents can't do is to take away the pain right then but that's what love is all about.
