Here's the Ford Falcon IRS in my Classic Revival Cobra. It's a wide rear end as well and the front and rear wheels have the same shallow dish but to me it looks good with the 17" wheels.
The things I like about this rear end more than make up for not having deep dish wheels. it's a double wishbone set up and Camber and Toe are very easy to adjust. The outboard brakes are easy to work on and the shocks are easy to get to and adjust. It uses rubber bushes on the chassis end of the arms and spherical bearings at the hub. I'm expecting the car to handle very well.
This rear end is from an Australian Falcon but I'm sure there must be some similar setups under some US cars.
