I don't think any extreme high performance engine is a Sunday cruiser...they can be used as such...but if you're into gas mileage and such, then that's not for you. They are streetable though, if that's what you're worried about. My 425ci stroker will idle at 185 degrees all day long...it's great.

As for the tranny, I think a 3550 would be fine if you're not gonna use slicks or drag race it much. It's always wiser to upgrade to a blow-proof bellhousing...just in case...there's not much between you and the clutch disc if it decides it wants to get a better view of the world.

You will notice a great gain....lots of horsepower and lots of torque...especially if you go with a really long stroke.
