I'm prior military and have had USAA insurance on cars, house, etc., since '66.
To USAA, it's just another car. It's not even a High Performance car because the original 351 was only rated at 195HP. Over 300 original HP and you pay a HiPo car premium.
Since I like driving it more than just ocassionally, I put standard tags on it. Get it State safety inspected annually, but over 25 years old does not require emissions. Why not just get antique tags for an over 25 year old vehicle which does not require emissions, or safety, or even annual renewal? First, there is the how much, and where I can, and can't drive. Second, and more importantly, a fender bender, and it goes to court, which car "may not" have been working properly because I didn't have the little sticker on the windshield? Just a little extra protection.
