I don't have the pedals installed in my car yet...When I bolt the tranny up next week, I'd like to try it in gear since it's been newly rebuilt. If the T/O bearing and clutch fork are installed, could I provide enough leverage by pulling on the fork to disengage the clutch long enough to swap cogs?

Not likely, unless you're built like the Guv'nor of California. Figure from 200-500 lbs effort required, depending on your clutch. (That's figuring backword from 40-100lbs pedal pressure x 5:1 mechanical advantage.)
