I think the snow tires were a waste. It gets along better in the real bad stuff, but this mild winter is shredding them. Live and learn. I guess Cleveland Heights isn't snow belt. Oh well......
I'm glad this is more of a meet and greet. As cool as the cars are, you guys are really what makes this happen.
Not to reminisce too much - but my dad and I wanted to restore something - mainly rebuild a motor...something late 60's chevy, maybe a chevelle. Big block, 4 speed, blah blah blah... Nothing stirred our souls then one day he says "how about a Cobra?"
2 weeks later we are at DVSF II and fell in love w/ the family. We felt like well loved distant cousins at that point. I was trying to rationalize on the way home that the 5.4 in the Expedition sounded a little like the 351 Windsors. A lot like a fart sounds like a really good thunderstorm, but whatever.
A year later, our Surge tank was blown off the top of the motor for the 10th time in a row, I'm damn near in tears wanting nothing more than to just be at the Fling III....which was the next day. It wouldn't happen and we chalked it up to doing the engine ourselves. It dyno'd at 508 but alas...could not stay cool or keep coolant inside of it.
2 months later, we retorque the heads, and all is well in the land of Mid-Ohio. Since then I've wanted nothing more than to be able to come see all you fellow idiots at the fourth fling.
Can't wait to get together on the 24th. See y'all there.
